Art Bash at SFMOMA
Join SFMOMA’s signature fundraising event featuring an immersive dinner by Firelei Báez, a live auction with Sotheby’s Phyllis Kao, and a museumwide celebration with art activations, live music (in partnership with Stern Grove Festival), and performances by Bay Area artists.
All proceeds support SFMOMA’s education and community programs.

Ruth Asawa’s extraordinary career as a cross-disciplinary artist touched hearts across the world—but nowhere is her impact more deeply rooted than in San Francisco. From iconic public artworks to transformative arts education programs, Asawa’s contributions continue to shape the city she called home.
This afternoon, hear firsthand stories from those who knew her personally—as family, friends, and collaborators—and discover how her spirit lives on in the community she helped build.

Join Ruth’s Table for a hands-on evening celebrating Ruth Asawa’s legacy of art and community. Create geometric art from recycled milk cartons with SCRAP and Aiko Cuneo, enjoy a moving live performance by artist-activist Nobuko Miyamoto, and connect with innovators from Yes SF working to build a sustainable future for San Francisco.elebrate the start of summer with a rooftop dance party featuring Dirtybird, the iconic SF-born electronic music label turning 20! Enjoy house, tech-house, and funky vibes from three incredible DJs all evening long.

Free with museum admission. This event takes place on a First Thursday when the museum is free to Bay Area residents.

Inspired by Ruth Asawa’s own garden—a space of creativity and care—these weekly pop-ups invite you to engage with nature through interactive workshops, skill-sharing, and art activities in the museum’s outdoor garden.
