Established in 1973, the championship consists of multiple rallies held in different countries, featuring diverse road surfaces such as gravel, tarmac, snow, and ice. Each rally is made up of timed special stages, with competitors aiming to complete them as quickly as possible while navigating treacherous conditions and unpredictable weather.
Manufacturers like Toyota, Hyundai, and Ford field high-performance Rally1 cars, built to withstand the extreme demands of the sport. The championship awards titles to the best driver, co-driver, and manufacturer at the end of each season. The 2025 FIA World Rally Championship (WRC) is the 53rd season of the international rally series. The season begins in January 2025 with the Rallye Monte-Carlo and ends in November with the Rally Saudi Arabia.
